
Hi, I’m Gielen Rojas-López, a technology and transformation leader with over 25 years of experience working across complex IT and organisational environments. I work internationally in English and Spanish, supporting organisations across diverse cultural and operational contexts.
I’ve spent much of my career helping enterprises navigate large-scale change — including roles within Microsoft and VMware consulting services, where I supported cloud and platform transformation programmes for global organisations. This builds on earlier work across enterprise technology, service design, and operating models.
Today, my focus is on shaping how organisations bring together operating models, governance, and internal platforms as connected systems of value.
I work at the intersection of enterprise architecture, modern service management, and platform engineering — helping organisations move beyond fragmented initiatives towards coherent, product- and service-oriented ecosystems. This includes applying product thinking to platforms and services, so they are designed, delivered, and evolved with clear value propositions and alignment to broader enterprise goals.
My approach combines structured service and operating model design with practical platform capabilities, enabling organisations to balance autonomy, compliance, and flow. I also support purposeful team design, including the application of Team Topologies, and bring change management expertise to ensure that transformation is not only designed, but adopted and sustained.
To articulate my perspective, I authored the position paper Platform Engineering: Conditions for Success, which brings together patterns and principles observed in practice.
Alongside this, I share practical resources, articles, and tools through this site, and co-founded PlatformEngineeringToolkit.com focused on the organisational dimension of platform engineering and the evolution of internal platforms.
