Hi, I’m Gielen Rojas-López, a technology and transformation leader with over 25 years of experience working across complex IT and organisational environments. Fluent in English and Spanish, I’ve supported clients across diverse cultural and organisational contexts.
Part of my career included working within Microsoft and VMware consulting services, where I supported large enterprise customers through complex cloud and platform transformation programmes. That experience built on many years of related work across operating models, services, and enterprise technology environments.
Today, my focus is on shaping internal platforms as cohesive systems of value. My work spans IT operating and service model design, applying product management principles to cloud and platform operations so that platforms are treated as products with clear value propositions and coherent service portfolios that align to the rest of the Enterprise.
Drawing on Enterprise Architecture, platform engineering, and modern IT service management integration, I help organisations build structured platform services, embed codified controls, and balance autonomy, compliance, and flow. I advocate for Team Topologies and purposeful team design, and bring certified change management expertise to ensure operating model shifts are sustainable and supported by aligned stakeholders.
To articulate my perspective on Platform Engineering, I authored the position paper Platform Engineering: Conditions for Success, which brings together the principles and patterns I’ve observed in practice. I am also co-founder of PlatformEngineeringToolkit.com, a platform dedicated to sharing practical tools and approaches focused on the organisational dimension of platform engineering.
